Living Lord Lutheran Church began its Preschool program nearly 30 years ago, soon after the church building was built. The congregation saw a need in the community for a program that provided a Christian preschool alternative. That need still exists today. The program is run by the Preschool Board, which ensures its quality through a strong teaching staff and policies of ethical responsibility and financial integrity, which have been the hallmark of this ministry and the reason for its success. Living Lord Lutheran Church Preschool is a state-licensed facility that complies with state safety and health requirements.
The philosophy behind Living Lord Lutheran Church Preschool is to help children develop fine and gross motor skills, aid in social and emotional development, provide basic learning experiences for three-year-olds, and encourage Kindergarten readiness in four-year-olds. Trained staff members provide a fun learning environment in a warm, loving, Christian atmosphere.
The goals of the program are to provide an atmosphere that encourages within each child:
Understanding of Jesus and his love
Development of a positive self-concept
Respect for the individuality and rights of others
Positive ways of interacting with peers and adults
Acceptance and expression of both positive and negative feelings
Growth of independence and self-sufficiency
Growth of creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
Cognitive growth and development
Small and large muscle development
Kindergarten readiness (in the four-year-old and Pre-K programs)
