“Train children in the way they should go,
and when they are old they will not turn from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6

MidweekLiving Lord Lutheran Church is “the place to be” for kids in fifth grade through high school. Our creative youth programs are designed to excite youth about Jesus and challenge them to make Him the center of their daily lives.

Midweek Mania
Midweek Mania draws fifth and sixth graders into a real and personal understanding of Jesus. The youth are heartily welcomed each Tuesday evening (6:30-8:00 PM) and encouraged to bring their friends, be rowdy, and learn about God. The goals are to guide them to become more active in their faith and to encourage their desire to know Him better. The lessons learned at Midweek Mania tie in directly with those taught on Sunday morning in the fifth and sixth grade Sunday School program. Midweek is a fun and exciting way for these kids to build on their Sunday School experience and nurture relationships with their Christian peers.

Confirmation

A major part of the ministry to seventh and eighth graders is the confirmation program. Our program prepares these youth to confirm their faith as Christians and become active members of the congregation. Here We Stand is an on-line based confirmation program that provides both confirmation leaders and students with the tools and technology to help learn about the Christian faith from a Lutheran perspective. Our goal is to provide a creative and fun confirmation program that encourages students to (1) experience a solid relationship with the Lord; (2) build friendships within a Christian community (small groups); and (3) serve others in community with their small group.

Bible Study
To build on the confirmation experience, seventh and eighth graders are encouraged to attend the junior high Bible study at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings. These engaging study topics go hand-in-hand with lessons learned in confirmation.

Other Growth Activities
Seventh and eighth graders are invited to participate in other exciting Christian-growth experiences, including confirmation camp, service projects, retreats, and mission trips.

Senior High Ministries
High School Youth Group
Living Lord’s high school youth group offers fun fellowship in a Christian environment. It’s an introductory way for teens to explore their connection to Christ and strengthen that bond. Two regularly scheduled activities are SNAC (Sunday Night At Church), a time for fellowship and spiritual growth, and The Gathering on Thursday nights, when teens come to the church to do homework and just hang out. Other fun activities with a Christian attitude include concerts, sporting events, and competitions, as well as faith-building retreats, camps, and mission trips.

Senior High Bible Study
High school kids have the opportunity to participate in topical Bible study each Sunday morning during the 9:00 AM worship service time. The idea is to encourage them to take time each week to grow spiritually along with their peers through Bible study and then join their family and the rest of the congregation for further spiritual enrichment through worship, either at 10:30 AM Sunday or Saturday evening at 5:00 PM.

Small Groups
Teens who want to dig deeper into their faith and learn more about what it means to be a Christian can participate in small groups, led by caring adults who act as faith mentors.

Peer Ministry
This is an opportunity for teens who are ready to take the next step and act on their faith. These youth are solid in their relationship with Christ and have the desire to minister to their friends. The youth meet two to three hours each month with youth ministry leaders to go over principles and practical applications related to ministering to peers.

Service Projects
Currently, youth from Living Lord volunteer regularly at the Humanitarian Service Project, helping to organize and stock the food pantry. Our Living Lord congregation has a long history of helping others, and our youth are no exception. Our young people feel called to show their faith by what they do (James 2:18) through this service ministry and others, as opportunities arise.

Youth WorshipYouth Worship Service
Several times per year, Living Lord’s teens plan and lead weekend worship services for the whole congregation. The faith and creativity demonstrated by these youth inspire the congregation and show parents the wonderful results of encouraging their children to explore and act on their faith.
